I just want to share my little 12volt experience story. I'm a young guy from south africa. As a young guy,I always loved to know about vehicle accessories but I totally had no experience with it. so then I asked myself, how will I get to know all these things as I don't even have a clue how it works. so I started reading how a cars electrical system works, each and every question on google started with how to,how to, day and night I used google as my guide to mobile electronics. as I said,I started by getting to know a cars electrical system, fuses, amps, current, voltage etc. Then it all made sense to me and then I thought of starting doing things practically. I started in my room with a car battery and a old door as a work bench. I started testing how things work such as led's,alarms,immobilisers,anti-hijack,central locking, power windows etc . In 2011 I prepared to do an installation on my friends toyota corolla 1992.the installation was successful but it took me 2days as the vehicle was a little old and the alarm did not work correctly due to faulty door switches. I ended up replacing all door switches and then the system worked properly. Since then I now install alarms,immobilisers,anti-hijack systems, central locking, power windows safe and neatly . I will not say that im a professional installer now,but I at least know what I'm doing, and I have notice that I'm more skilled then some installers at well known fitment centers in town .I still have a lot to learn, but I'm just sharing what reading can do,it really makes your life easy. Please share your story on how you became an installer. I'm truly pleased to be part of the 12volt.comhow i became an installer - Last Post -- posted image. how i became an installer - Last Post -- posted image.
Do it once,do it right - This means no short cuts. You never get paid twice for having to do the job twice because it wasn't done right the first time.
