here is a picture of my toyota 4runner dash.
i stripped all the degrading foam and cracked plastic or whatever it was off of it..
and now i want to make a mold of it. or something with the same base shape. and add things to the top. etc.
what do you guys think??
this is my first attempt ever at making anything fiberglass..

Ok... Good first step... But you'll want to get further along in your project before coming to us for opinions. The idea is sound, don't get me wrong and the idea can be great, but personally I would like to see the project further along before I make any opinions of the idea-in-development.

for the fiberglass box..
the outer coating that is applied after the resin and the matting.
in this thread. https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~74519~PN~1
where the body filler and resin get mixed together...
is it 5 parts filler to 1 part resin or 5 parts resin to 1 part filler??

mixing a batch of body filler and resin ( 5:1 ratio )
the way he has written it there makes me think that its 5 body filler to 1 resin the pic also looks similar, Ive never done it like that i use a bodyfiller, known as builders bog im assuming its similar to the rage gold, pictured there. i then cover the whole project in the bog and sand just the same as told, so its ok to not use resin but this may however be an improvement.
