ok first off i had a cheap and old clarion deck, but it plays my music nicely which is mostly dance music with a lot of highs. Now im moved on and bought a alpine cda-9815 which had way better clarity but the problem was that the highs isn't is great anymore. I first thought it was something wrong with the x-over on the deck so I had it sent for repair. But after I got it back it still sounds the same. So with frustrations, I traded it in and got a alpine cda-9833 and hoped that it sounded better, but its exactly the same. The clarity and the function is all there, and I adjusted my eq and I notice it didn't make much differences on the high frequency around 16 and 20k, why is that? Is it because im using the internal amp of the HU? Does this deck not play higher frequencys? I wasn't plannin on using any external amps at all, and for the price I pay for this im not happy with it. Anyone out there can share their experiances with this HU? thanks

hmm I have never heard of a problem with the audio quality out of an alpine deck.   have you gone thru the whole manual to see if there are any other crossover functions

are you shure your tweeters aren't craping out on you?  Try a friends deck in there to be shure of it.

Actually the highs are there but they aren't really that crisp like the old clarion deck. The wierd thing is that when I play mp3s the highs sound way better. I have no idea why mp3s sound better, don't it suppose to be the other way around? Like I said im using the internal amp of this unit, are you guys using external amps? Also whats the highest band do you guys adjust on? I found out that the eq made little differences on 20k adjustments, and it sounded a little better at 10k for the highest band adjustment. thanks

Do you have the media expander function on and adjusted, and do you have the treble setting centered in the area you want it at?
