No, you're thinking of FM transmitters, which are even worse. FM modulators plug into the antenna.

Search the net for "PIE" or "Blitz" adapters. Those are the two commonly used/trusted interfaces. Be aware it may run you upwards of $100, but the sound will be much better. Of course, this assuming the HU has an AUX/XM button... Though with XM and such out nowadays, most do.
