I have an aux on my HU, but all I did was use a cable that has RCA plugs on one end that hooked up to aux and a headphone jack on the other which plugs into the ipod.

you need to make sure your deck has an AUX input on it.
you can use a Y-cable (what xxbffalcon07xx is talkin about). or depending on the deck you have you can find an interface that will hook up to your deck and you can hook up your ipod. alpine makes one so does pioneer. the cool thing about that is you can control your ipod through your deck. there is also an interface out there called icruzer or something like that, more of a generic thing, but if it does the trick. the only downside with that is you can't control it through the deck.
