Out of curiosity, what are your reasons for going with a 3-way setup?  Focal does make a couple sets of 3-way components.

i would say so. since when you get down into the lower frequencies the sound isnt as focused as it is with the higher ones. so the woofer in the factory location would ok. just get the others imaged and tuned properly for where they are going to be at. but like steve said, not really necessary and 2 ways are probably better route to go. i always stop myself from getting 3 ways because in my head i want them, but there is also the voice that says there wont be much difference.

Actually I would probably put the 6 in the kicks and the mid in the door near the tweeter. 

Audio is one place where more isn't always better.  Ideally you want the full audible frequency range to come from one driver.  However this isn't possible as no one driver has the bandwidth to do this.  So we must break it down into multiple drivers.  As we start adding drivers to cover smaller bandwidths, the returns are greatly reduced per adition.  In my experiences when working at Adire Audio, I found personally that I couldn't hear a difference between the two-way set and three way set short of a direct a/b comparison.  However others with more "golden" ears were able to hear a difference.  But because of my experiences, I chose a custom two-way set for my home theater.  And I figure if the differences were so small in home audio, they definitely won't be enough in car audio to convince me to go through all the trouble of installing a three-way set.
