92 nissan maxima se Bose system

Hi guys great site ....I'm pulling my Bose system out of my car ..My question is can I use the wiring harness in the car for my new speakers? Or will the amp relays be a problem...Also what size are my door speakers?I've been told there 4 by 6's,5.25's or 4 in......Which is it can't seem to get same answer twice I plain on using the plastic amp holders and just replace speakers and bypass the amps(blown)...Thanks for any help guys....

hey gibbys. first of all i have 4x6 for your front and 6x9 for the rear. also on the bose set-up... i found that you can replace your headunit no prob but not your speakers. i am 98 percent positive you need to re wire from h/u to speakers. i have tried killing power to amps. and it never seems to work without re-wireing. its not that difficult just annoying. if anyone found it possible to use existing wiring please inform would make my life easier as well. but best of luck hope i helped

or you could just take off the door panels and open the bose box and take the amp out of there and use the wire that is aready there just take the amp out of there cut the plug off and extend the wire and run a new piece inside of the black box and do the same to the rest. If that make any sense. i did it and just used a wiring harness and it worked great

yeah... what pmh said... I miss my 92 max... dont miss the bose one bit at all though... The front speakers are an inexact size (Thanks alot bose) 4 inch round speakers with strip caulk (aka dumdum) to seal the area around the speaker worked really well for me. If you change the rear speakers try not to get any 6x9's with the goofy superhuge tweeter assembly because they wont fit right. Also, be prepared for overwhelmingly good sound from your rear and crappy sound up front. Now that I think about it the best thing to do if you have the time and resources would be to make custom 6.5" pods for your front doors and put some nice 6.5's up front. Either way good luck.
