here is what the kicker tech bulliten says

compact ported enclosure - 3 cubic ft. per sub + port.  port = 2.5"x16.5"x19.5" long

reccomended enclosure (street bass) - 4.5 cubic ft. + port.  port = 3"x16.25"x14.75" long

SPL (Deep Bass) - 6.0 cubic ft + port.  port = 3.5"x16.25"x13.75" long

ported will be louder than sealed.

Call Kicker @ (405)624-8510,

Ask for tech support (These guys are the "mad scientists" for all that is Kicker).  Tell them what you have & what kind of sound you want.  They will give you specs for a monster!

I called them because I had an old Kicker F6.5C (6 1/2") freeair sub.  They gave me specs that were nowhere near what was on the tech bulletin.  How does it sound??  Put it this way, when I took it to car stereo shops to have installers listen to it, the closest anyone has come to guessing the correct size, was an installer who guessed "a ported 10".  I call it "The Tiny Avenger".

Remember, The recommended enclosure sizes in their bulletins are for good "all-around" performance, if you want something a little more over the top?  Contact them directly.  Hope this helps.
