Fiberglass and resin might be too heavy. You'd ideally like to match the weight of the missing section because the spider and motor could reproduce tones incorrectly...

I'm not wrong, I didn't say anything was 100% sure, they were just things to take into account.
Anyways, yes, glue a dustcap, that should be the best combination of durability and time management.

If it still works with a big hole in the center then the voice coil must still be attached and all you've done is removed the equivalent of the dust cap.  leave it alone.  Or, if it's cosmetics you're worried about, you could try a standard dust cap.  I think fiberglass, etc. would be too much and would possibly damage the cone further as you have no idea how the plastic cone material might react to fiberglass resin.

Or you could reverse mount it....

i probably will reverse it. but i was thinkin fiberglass so it wud be stiff. I had 2 and the other ones tinsel leads broke and this one has a hole in the middle. but i am gonna fix it either way its worth a try. got nuthin to lose
