I got the Big 3 upgraded, and some new Phoenix Gold battery terminals.

0ga grounds and a 4ga from the alt to the battery:

I'm gonna keep using the stock 10ga alt to batt wire, so I went with the 4ga upgrade. Plus for two other reasons, I already had the 4ga red in the scrap wire box, and I can't fit a 0ga under the spark plug cover, lol.

4ga at the alternator:

Goes into one end of the spark plug cover, and out here:

and into the right side of the term:

Block to body ground:

Yes, I ground down the area to shiny bare metal with the ol' dremel!

Eh, old pic of the fuse holder. More tidy install now without the rusty head screws too, lol. It is still in the same spot.

Okay, I've wrapped up all my upgrades for this year.

In the rear - Out with the old MB Quart's, in with the Diamond Audio Hex S600 component set. 6.5 inch mids, silk dome tweets.

I flush mounted the tweets in the rear sills.

I took out the Alpine 7894, installed a 7977 (from '01). I lose the time correction feature the 7894 has, but the 7977 has no speaker outputs so it draws less current and runs cooler than the 7894, and the RCA outputs are slightly higher voltage.

I also installed a PPI QBass knob, put it in the pocket below the radio. Also built this panel next to it out of some 1/4 inch MDF, wrapped it in vinyl and mounted 2 switches. The one on the left turns the sub amp on and off (interrupts the remote lead wire), the one on the right turns on cooling fans mounted behind the sub amp (PCX2125) and the front speaker amp (PCX480).

QBass knob cord plugs in here.

And I hinged my trunk board so I can get at my spare tire without having to move the sub box.

No such thing as too loud. But there is such a thing as not enough money to make it that way.

What do you think of those Diamond HEX? I like the silk tweets, and the x-over's are tight. They take a pretty good beating... Good choice of wire!   The speakers in the back dash.. do they need/have enclosures to keep from distorting?

I love the Diamonds. I have no enclosures for the mids, and hear no distortion. They are cut off at 80HZ.

Nice, I was thinking that the air pressure from the JL made them float. I had that issue in my 01 lude. Even with the seat down.

I bought a grill for the W6:

Finally after a year, I killed battery, replaced it with a Yellow top:

It has cut down the headlight dimming significantly. And I accidentally already killed it once, lol, I left the cooling fans on for 2 straight days. Jump-started the car, and it's a-ok now.
