Hey guys,
I just picked up a 2016 Buick Encore base for a 2 year lease. It is a flip key, not PTS
I want to add a remote start but since it is a short lease I want to keep it basic and un-intrusive. I was just going to do a RSR install with just a bypass module and use 3X lock for RS
I am looking at a DBALL2 with a THGM610 or a Fortin Evo GMT1.
First question is are these the right models for this vehicle?
Does anyone have any experience with this car? I searched and barely found Buick, let alone Encore. Might be a rebadged Chevy.
Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I would recommend this setup.
The reason for the remote is that your factory remotes will not work once the vehicle is remote started so you will need a way to get in unless you want to stick the key in the door every time.

Thanks for the reply. I am going to forego the remote. I realize I will need to use the key but I can live with that for 2 years. I just need a RS for the cold northeast mornings to warm up the car. If I was going to add remotes, I would just do a full blown RS. Trying to keep it cheap and simple, especially since I will be pulling it out in 2 years.
Have you done an Encore?
Anyone done an Encore?
Thanks

Why would you install a full remote start system when the module will do it all for you. The remote start system will only trigger the module to do the work any way.
Using the kit I listed above, EVO-GM1 will be the easiest system to install as it comes pre-flashed for your vehicle for 15 min run time to work with the OEM keyfob, set up to accept a CrimeStopper or Fortin RF kit.
The only wires you will need to connect will be for parking lights and 1 wire to the OBD 2 connector. Simple install.

Thanks for the feedback. I have a question with the DBALL setup, I realize I will need to use the key to open the vehicle while remote started, but what will happen when I do? Will the vehicle shut down or will it allow key takeover?
Thanks.
