recently my the lights on my speedometer and a/c knobs etc. on my car arent coming on when i turn my headlights on anymore... this all happended after i had installed an amp and a sub, but before that i had an indash screen installed also but there wasnt a problem until i installed the amp and the subwoofer.. what had happened at first was a fuse burnt out and i replaced that while my headunit was out of the dash but still hooked up but after i push the dash part of the radio back in the lights went out again... excpet this time it wasnt a burnt fuse... the car i have is a 2004 civic si and i was referred to this site by a person from ephatch.com and was wondering if anyone could help me out with this problem

Maybe when you put the radio back in, you shorted a wire from the dash by pinching or cutting it.
Remove your radio and take a look at the wires behind it, maybe try the wire that is marked illumination on the radio, it might have something to do with the dash lights.

make sure the orange wires on the factory harness side are not grounding. if the are hooked up to the aftermarket HU then try disconnecting them and capping them off.

If the lights are going on and off while taking your dash apart, chances are that a wire has come loose or has been damaged / pinched in some way. Check out everything you can running around the install area all the way into the rear of the instrument panel where the problem is.   Make sure the harness for the back of the instrument panel is seated properly and that none of the connecting pins were damaged.
