Hey guys, need some input on this... I have a friend that just bought a used car, and it has a compustar 2wfm8000as installed in it.. don't know if a shop did it or it was a DIY. the problem is that over night it seems to false quite a bit. the siren doesn't go off, nor does it have any indication on the remote that something is going wrong, but the remote will just start beeping, (or vibrating if set on vibe) for no apparent reason. no one is around the car, parking lights don't flash, and the siren doesn't go off...

Anyone have any ideas why the compustar LCD remote is doing this? it was doing it about avery 30-40 minutes the other night starting at around 1 am, until he finally just shut the alarm off. coudl it be a defective remote? or what... he has the RPS sensor hooked up, coudl that be causing this problem?

If the alarm isn't actually going off,but the remote is reporting a violation,i would double check all the wiring and sensors.Especially that proximity sensor.They can be more trouble then they're worth sometimes..Some alarms can be programmed to only notify the remote and not go off at the vehicle..

all connections seem to be correct, and this isn't the case, it's not programmed to only have the remote go off, and not the siren...

I would try unhooking that perimeter sensor and see if that solves the problem..

anyone that has actual experience with this, or compustar alarms would be great to hear from you...

Mark, what does it display on the remote when it vibrates ?

I had the same problem with mine. First the alarm was going off every 1/2 hour but then i put i diode and a relay to the door trigger because it was falsing. Then it would randomly go off and the remote was saying the shock sensor so i turned the sensitivity down to like 2 and now nothing. But now every once in a while the RPS goes off and the remote is saying someone is paging me but there is no one there. Anyone know how to fix it?

From what he told me, there isn't any notification on the LCD... no parking lights flash, or anything, it just vibrates randomly over night

I am going in to look at the car tonight, so if anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it... I just don't see why the remote is vibrating, but nothing reports on the display...

Go back to the dealer that you got it from and explain the situation and there's warranty for a new remote control and antenna. If the vibrater is going off randomly without any notifcation of the vehicle sensors being triggered it wuill be a warranty part IMO.
