I have a Alpine 9813 cd/mp3 unit that I truly adore. Only problem it has is that it wont eject the cd without some help, ie, putting the edge of another cd in or whatnot....

thanks  in advance..

Call Alpine. I don't know for sure, but they used to have a place that you can send them in for repair that didn't cost much. I've sent a few but that was a while back.

Call Alpine, 1-800-421-2284, ask for customer service. They will direct you to the nearest Alpine service center. Repairs on CD players usually run $85 to $100 from Alpine depending if parts are needed or not. Definately get it fixed, the currant line of Alpine CD players ( excluding DVD players) cannot hold a candle to your 9813.
There is no such thing as free installation!

If you are any good with this stuff, take the HU apart. Remove the mechanism. On the front of the mechanism where the cd goes in there will be a roller that goes across. It should be a rubber sleeve over a steel rod. Try to push the ends of the sleeve toward the center. This will give the sleeve more gripping power. This has been a problem with Alpines for a while. Just haven't heard of ones as new as yours doing it yet. Good luck.
