viper 791xv siren

I have a 100watt police siren speaker from my old gig. I have seen these types of sirens connected to the alarm. How do I do this? I have tried wiring it inplace of the stock viper/dei siren speaker. It didnt work

im sure it uses more than 12volts.

You would hook up the driver circuits, brown from alarm to pos input, ground the neg then add the siren (speaker)

Sorry I didn't explain properly. As it  standsz its not compatible with the 791 Siren because this is  a driver unit and siren, therefore you need the driver unit before it will work.

I've put in a couple of police sirens too. (In police cars, not in conjunction with an alarm.) As you already know, the speaker is just a speaker. Not much different from a car or house speaker, except it's rugged and waterproof. The other part of the system (that goes inside the police car) has a tone generator and amplifier....and is connected to the siren switches as well. The typical car alarm siren has the tone generator, amplifier, and speaker all built into one housing. When you supply power on the red and black wires, it does its thing automatically. You could disassemble the Viper siren, cut the wires from its internal speaker, extend them and connect them to your police-siren speaker........but I don't know if that's going to do much for you. You'll have a bigger speaker, but probably the amplifier inside the Viper siren isn't very powerful, and it's not going to be any louder than it was before. If you really want the volume and sound of a police siren, you'd have to buy the rest of the parts to the system. Then, you could use the Viper's siren (or horn) output to trigger the aftermarket siren setup. I have a siren driver/ amp. but how can I go about hooking this up. I mainly want the police siren to chip when I arm and disarm my alarm.
