I am trying to install a DEI Python 460HP alarm in my 98 Pontiac Sunfire 4D 2.4L .  Manual everything.  I have a few things I just can't figure out.  I have the color code chart but it doesn't list everything.  Can someone help me figure out the following.

1.  Where do you tap into the domelight and what color is it?  (does have factory installed relay for domelight delay)

2.  It appears as though I have a (-) door trigger input is this correct? I also have 4 door pins.   Do I need to tap into all 4 pins?  If so where should I tap into? and what or where in the world is a brake diode isolate?

3.  Is the trunk light a mercury switch ? If the trunk is opened the dome light comes on.  How do I hook up the trunk light to the alarm if this is the case or do I need a trunk pin?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Notes:
NOTE: This vehicle has a the PASSLOCK I key based engine disabling system. Use DEI part number 555t or 555L to bypass during remote start. *1 The engine harness is found next to the battery, below the radiator hose, just above the transaxle. *2 Non keyless cars, locks are 5wi (type C) and they are mastered from the passenger side switch. Keyless cars, locks are positive trigger (type A). *3 The GREEN/ black is located in the lower drivers kick panel. It catches the drivers door only. The light blue is located in the lower passenger kick panel, and catches the passenger door(s). Tap both wires and diode isolate each. *4 The keyless module is located in the left side of the trunk behind the rear seat.

I think I goofed!  I was reading the diagram wrong the door trigger is GREEN/ black (-) triggered and blue/black (-) triggered, near the brake, and both needs to be isolated by a 1N4001 diode.  Oops!

However can someone help determine how the interior dome light and the trunk light are tied together?

Also still trying to figure out how to properly tap into the interior dome light and what the color of this wire is.

I've got the door triggers nailed to a art now.  Still trying to get some help on the darn dome light connection.  I know it is required to install a relay.  I just have a few questions in regards to this hookup.  What is the difference between the  dome light supervision  polarity wire and the dome light supervision wire is their a difference here or do you tie these wires together are they speaking of the same wire here?  I have found the white (+) dome light wire which measures 12v I'm presuming this is the (+) positive dome light  polarity wire?  ANy help at all would be great!

  • dome light supervision  polarity wire : This will be a (-) because the dome light on the Sunfire is a (-) dome light. If the vehicle had a (+) dome light then this would be a (+) wire instead.
  • dome light supervision wire: This wire comes from the dome light itself. You can use the door trigger as well.

Great ,I'll give it a shot!  I have been told that their is a BCM in this vehicle and that it shuts off after 20 min.  Thus causing false triggers.  Can someone tell me what a BCM is?  I don't see any relation to a BCM in my schematics?

Ok, I got the BCM thing now (body computer module)  I tested to see if the BCM shuts off after 20 min on my vechicle it doesn't appear too.

Here's where I'm confused.

Do both the domelight supervision polarity wire and the dome light supervision wire come from the domelight (orange and white) and which color is the polarity wire and which is the supervision wire .
