Thanks

That's almost definitely a spare grommet that's for some feature that was not on your vehicle. A lot of times this free space is where the clutch would go in a manual transmission car.  You should try to double check both sides of it first before you try to poke or drill through it.

If you can get to it relatively easily, I'd recommend you drill a hole in the grommet, just slightly smaller than the gauge of the power wire you're using.  The hole will expand to accomodate the  power wire once you start pushing the power wire through.  And it'll give you a nice seal too.  If you can get to it just enough to pop it out of the metal, you can go ahead and do that, then while the grommet is out you can drill your hole and push the power cable through the hole.  Then put the grommet back in to place.

If you can only get to the grommet so that you poke through one side of it, make sure you don't pop out the grommet.  Most of those firewall grommets are only held in on one side of the firewall, so if you push on it from the wrong side it will come out without you even getting your poker through it.

almost all hondas have a spare plug space on the pass. side of the firewall. it should be about 17-18"s down and about the size of a silver dollar. most of the time you can just cut a hole in it, run the wire through, and just plug it back in.
