domelight as reading light

Is it possible to wire in a two way switch to the domelight and have it come on without all the other courtesy lights coming on? Or do I need a 3 way switch? Would a diode be able to isolate the ground circuit to the pin switch and just go directly to ground through the switch? What I have is two 'aircraft' lights with a two way switch for each light. I'd like to use these parts and not have to find 3 way switches that fit the same size hole in the bracket. I can get them to work as a domelight but can't figure out how to isolate them from the courtesy lights and pin switch so that the 2 way switch will only operate that individual light. I've tried using the switches on the negative side of the lights to add a separate ground but the other courtesy lights still come on.

Howz about: ... where the RHS LED-string represents (one of) your reading light. Although the readingLight/LED switch is shown as a 3-way, merely use a 2-way and omit the center-off position if it is to follow the door switch or dome light status. Or omit the LHS position if you want it totally independent of dome lights.... Note that the diagram assumes the common "hot" dome & reading light conventions where they are turned on through grounding switches, and the +12V is a fused +12V source. (FYI - that diagram comes from led triggered by dome light and on/off/on (and later from the unforgettable new dome lights with new switch wiring...)
