2021 Mercedes G63, Wiring Relay For Illuminated Tread Plate

I need help please have a Mercedes each door has an illuminated tread plate these come on individually. The car has side steps with led lights at each end what i need is for all the lights to come on at once if any door is open. What i found is each factory fitted tread plate has a constant earth but a switched live per door . So i reasoned if i took all the live feeds from each door put a diode in line on each feed wire then joined them together on terminal 85 of a relay all would be good . Its was for a couple of weeks now sometimes you go to the vehicle and the siide step leds are on with all doors closed . Open and closing a door turns LED off until the next time you find them on
