I have installed a Clifford RSX 3.5 on my 1994 Cadillac Deville. (Took me 3 Days). Installation manual says to use the  RED / white wire for the trunk actuator. It sends a negative signal, so that means that i need a relay right? Ok, So i bought a relay and the guy at the installation place told me to check of it has a resistor on it otherwise it will work several times the damage something. So I tried checking the voltage going in to the solenoid and the signal comes and goes so fast that the multimeter doesn't get a reading. I tried using the ac voltage meter I got a peak reading of .6 volts. What is going on? I don't whant to mess anything up.

Don't be too concerned with the resistor between the coils. I have done many installations without this resitsor and have had no problems with my customer's vehicles causing problems.

So I just hook up the Relay like I would on anything else?

Positive on 85 and 87.

RED / White on 86

and solenoid lead to 30.
