Amp Cutting Out? Kenwood POS Amp

I think my my KAC-729S crapped out. But I would like one Last try! Before the summer ended, I had the following installed and working together. 1- Infinity Reference 12" Subwoofer (Sealed) 1- Kenwood KAC-729S 1- Rockford Fosgate 1 Fared Cap 4 GA Monster cable and 8 Gauge Speaker Wire 1- Panasonic DEF-????? (CD Player with blue dotmatrix screen) At the end of summer, For some reason when I turned the radio on, The amp would come on and then off within a second. I've checked the voltage @ the cap and amp reading 14.5V with my DMM. I thought it was a power issue so I disconnected the fuse located in the engine bay. Well now that warmer weather is here, I've changed some things to hopefully fix and improve my sound. I got rid of the panasonic head unit for a premier (well, a car running over the face plate did it for me) and a optima red top battery. The amp is still cutting out. So Then I tried to disconnect the remote and jumpering the pos. to the remote on the amp and still get the same damn thing. Even though the voltage is still reading 14.5 Am I doing something wrong or KAC-729S is known for this crap?

Disconnect the rca cables and the speaker lines, does the amp still go on and then off (protection mode)?Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

I had this same exact problem but with a PPI amp and JL subs. I thought the amp went bad but I found out that the subs were blown. That for some odd reason made my amp go into protection mode. Well good luck.Alpine IVA-D900, IVA-D300, CDA9815, Focal speakers, JL 300/4, 1000/1, JL 10w6v2 X2.

Try taking your DMM and ohm'ing your speakers to see if they are indeed blown, vchangs prob. sounds like the same one you are experiencing, in addition, try what forbidden has recommended, I just figured I would give you a surefire way to check your sub without taking it out of the box and going through the possibilities of a potential hassle.
