Crazy ideas

I'm trying to make my alarm stand out from the rest. You hear alarms going off all the time, and not many people really pay attention. So far I have an air horn hooked up with a flashing circuit so it's not a constant blast. It's loud enough to grab attention, that's for sure. I have an interior siren under the driver seat to deafen whoever attempts to take anything inside my truck (and I'm considering an interior air horn as well). Another idea I want to incorporate is  flashing strobe lights, both to blind whoever is inside and to draw attention to my truck. I've heard of smoke machines and people using blasting caps, but that's a bit much for me. Everything is hooked op by relays to the alarm trigger output so it's isolated and won't burn out the brain. Of course with all this I'll have to turn the sensitivity WAY down, maybe even remove my shock sensor. I definately reccomend putting an air horn under the hood, not only will it wake up the neighborhood but scare the crap out of most thieves. Just make sure it doesn't go off all the time :) I would love to hear any other ideas, or just your opinions of mine.

I have 2 piezo sirens 100db each and the OEM alarm siren inside the car, a OEM siren of another alarm and air horns with a flasher relay under the hood. Haven't hooked everything up because as you might read in another post my sensors are triggering and I don't know how to fix that yet. What I can tell you is to make 100% sure your hood has a lock and I mean a GOOD lock. Theives pop the hood and cut the ground cable then work on the sirens and alarm. All that stuff without a ground is nothing. This forum sucks no one answers my other post.. hehehe I have no idea what I am talking about..I'm I talking?

I've never heard of a hood lock before, but it sounds like a good idea.  How much do they run, and where can I find one? Or did you just make your own?

Another way around the whole battery thing with thieves...run a dedicated battery for the alarm..just like they do for car audio high SPL applications...another option for securing your hood and trunk...Please don't laugh, I've actually seen quite a few cars with this option....go to your local HArdware store and pick up some good ole thick chain and a good padlock...loop it through and lock it up....It's a pain to open...but it really ticks people off...BTW: if you do this, please be kind enough to tell you installer!!!  I hate it when I go to open a trunk or hood..and find them padlocked and chained!!!Đễẳ†ђş 12\/ Ĵęśŧē®™

Thats's pretty ghetto, the whole padlock thing. Not something I would do personally, but if it works then that's all that that matters. I'll check out JC Whitney, thanks for the tip Jeff.
