Door Trigger will not work in a Ford

Help!!!! Please!!!

I just installed a Viper 300 car alarm in my 1999 F250 Ford Super Duty but I am having a major problem. I found what I thought was the door trigger wire down in the driver's kick panel (BLACK/ blue tracer wire). When I went to set the alarm, it wouldn't arm. It would beep a couple of times, and the LED would blink a series of flashes. If I waited until the dome light went out, it would arm just fine.

I think that the problem has to do with the dome light delay. Please help as I am totally lost on how to fix the problem(ie. the door triggers are not hooked up!!!)

Could any one please help with this problem? If so, could you also direct me to where the wiring, the colour and location? I am a total newbie!

This was my first alarm install so I would like to finish on a happy note!!!

For starters that wire is a positive trigger so make sure you have it hooked up to the purple wire coming off of the brain(not the green).  After you make sure this is done correctly, if you still have problems you can program the alarm to recognize a dome light delay (which should have been the default setting from the factory, but who knows).  Between these two suggestions it should clear up your problem.  Good luck-

I did use the violet wire slot on the brain as I found the door wire showed + when I opened the door. I am glad that you confirmed that as that was a question too.

How do I reprogram the brain? I do not have the manual anymore.

Are you saying that the alarm will bypass the trigger(delayed dome light) and will not arm the door triggers?? UGH!!!!

There is no way to fix this problem??? Is there a constant 12 volt wire for the door trigger that does not interfere with that %#%^@ dome light???

Please help guys as this is driving me nuts!!
