Ok so I checked out all of the Best Remote starters but most all of the recommended ones have this fob thats bigger than my cell phone.
I have a 2007 Outback that I want to start by remote but hate to carry around a walkie talkie to activate it.
Can any of you recommend something with a smallish fob for me that wont need a Electronics degree to install? Not that I dont want to have it done by a professional but quite often I can do a better job than what we have locally for help.
Thanks for the input...... Great Forum!

Viper 130, Valet 561R, Hornet 570....they dont come much smaller than that......

keep in mind, you still have to be able to press the buttons in winter with gloves on !!

Kevin,
First let me say Thanks for a fast response!
I have read good things about the Viper products and the 130 looks like it will do the job.
Now if I can find a harness that will couple to the new Subie I will be set.
Great response.

Remote-start-only, or RS with keyless?
Important Note: The factory Subaru keyless entry does not work with the engine running. You will most likely want to install a remote starter with its own keyless entry (and maybe panic if you want), and put the Subaru remotes away.
If you want a remote-start-only unit, without keyless, check out the Audiovox Pursuit AS-9055T or the similar Code Alarm CA-420. Tiny, simple, one-button remotes. But when the car is remote started, you'll have to unlock it using your key.

OEM remotes work fine after being remote started as long as you don't power up the keysense wire. And yes the 9055T/420 have the smallest remotes I've ever seen. AWESOME systems we have very little problems with them and do a LOT of them.

A premium solution featuring an ultra compact remote control and outstanding range
Recommended Remote Starter with Tiny Fob - Last Post -- posted image.November 28th, 2005—Astroflex ( www.astroflex.com) has announced the introduction of the Model 701XR remote start system, designed to overcome objections from consumers whose factory keyless entry buttons are built into their ignition key assembly. Such factory keys are typically quite large, and many consumers are unwilling to add yet another sizable remote device to their already bulky key chain. The AstroStart 701XR delivers the luxury and convenience of remote start capability utilizing a tiny, single-button remote control that adds little bulk or weight to the key ring. The Model 701XR has an outstanding remote transmit range of 2000-feet, thanks to the innovative Astroflex SAW receiver technology that utilizes a high-sensitivity pre-amplifier. The Model 701XR’s single button controls engine start/stop and Continuous Mode, which allows the motorist to leave the car fully locked and protected while the engine is running. The 701XR is also diesel engine and standard transmission compatible utilizing AstroStart interface modules.

·         Outstanding transmission range of 2000 feet
·         Remote uses ultra-bright LED for transmission confirmation visible even in daylight
·         Remote powered by Lithium battery for best cold weather performance
·         1 easy-to-use, 1-button one-way transmitter with LED light and more than 4 billion different codes
·         Superheterodyne SAW receiver (Surface Acoustic Wave) and invisible polyester antenna
·         Control module with RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Core) microprocessor
·         4-way protection against theft when vehicle is remote started: gas pedal, brakes, hood  and main switch
·         Diagnostic mode allowing installer to determine nature of violation or engine stop (LED or Multitest II)
·         Command reception acknowledgment via parking lights
·         Negative input for engine start using another accessory (timer)
·         Integrated programmable relay

Remote start and enter would certainly be the preferred.
And a smaller collection on my key hook would be best.

The Compustar remote controls are pretty small too.
