Did you have an after market alarm installed or is it factory?
The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya

The alarm only disarms with the remote, or with the key in the ignition.  Unlocking with the key in the door on that year and model car does not disarm the alarm - correct me if I'm wrong but that sounds like what you're doing here?

Ideally you can get a new remote and all will be well, or fix the one you have. Barring that, the only way the alarm may arm is if you push the power lock switch with the door open; it won't do it on its own.

Yeah factory alarm, it will arm when locked by remote and then only disarm with remote. If you unlock with the key in the door it will not disarm like on other vehicle factory systems like Honda, Chrysler, some Ford models. I would not use the factory system and you can put in an after market keyless that will lock and unlock without messing with the stock system. It can be made to trigger the keysense wire and that will disarm the alarm.
I would also find someone who could check if you could disable factory alarm, there might be a fuse in the fuse panel but I am not sure.

According to Scytek - factory alarm module is above and to the left of the glovebox. You can unplug it, and if your power locks still work that should be the end of your problem.

When you unplug the module mentioned earlier and a lot of things quit working, look for a factory installed pin switch under the hood and let me know if you can find it. According to the diagram I found there is a hood switch.
