ready to install tonight (even have a garage borrowed)

so I'm trying to flash my new XK532 and it says "platform 3" (06 chrysler town and country = CHDL6+ 3.0)

when I try to flash it says "platform error - firmware requires platform 532 connected

can I fix this?  (please say yes and tell me how!!!)

are you sure you're downloading this file          CHDL6+_3_00.enc

this is the firmware you need. a different firmware will reject the 532

thanks for the help, I really appreciate it -

Yes that's what I've downloaded (it says .txt after that - so it's CHDL6+_3_00.enc.txt)

but I've got a confusing observation -

using the vehicle wizard in the VIP software (had to use 06 caravan since town & country says nothing found) I can select firmware for that vehicle for 5 different modules - XK01, XK03, XK510, XK530, and 532.

the XK03, XK530 and XK532 all have firmware CHDL6+ v3.00 available for download and flash

but if I pick the 532 I get the platform error

I'm a rookie with these things, but it seems to me that my 532 thinks that it's an 03 (which if I read it right doesn't do transponder bypass)

thanks again

i grabbed an XK532 from stock and uploaded the CHDL6+ V3.0  with no problems..... you may have a bum unit??  or a 531 labelled as a 532??

yep that's what I concluded - too bad since I ordered it in and had the car all apart!

thanks for checking it

i just grabbed a second one and it flashed this firmware fine... maybe you have an old bootloader file?  or old stock on the modules?   i had an issue a year or so ago where every XK01 i tried to flash crashed on me and needed to be replaced... some wierd incompatibility between the modules i had and the new bootloader version....

that's why it doesnt pay to hold stock for a long time... even with XK modules!

no it will flash...but it won't flash to xk532 firmware - the loader software says it's an xk03 even though the label says 532...I think it's got a split personality (someone mislabled it)

mine here flash to XK532 fine... maybe you have an old bootloader....  tough to say.....  works fine for me..... you'll know for sure if it's an XK532 as the 53 series are about 2 - 2 1/2 times the physical size of an XK03 module...
