Hey all:

Searched but did not find info that helped....

I have a 2005 2500HD duramax with a viper RS(I did not do this install...bought the truck with it)..I have blown out 2 headlight switches over time...Only the auto feature now works, but the other positioons on the switch do nothing....The RS works well, but the parking lights do not come on in the day and the auto headlights come on at night....

What wires do I need to grab at the switch to fix this...They tagged one, but I have seen schematics with 2 wires needed....Some say grey bleack (-) and brown (+), but I have also seen violet (-)

Thanks

Brennan

I realize the switch is gone...But that is the second switch in a a matter of weeks...Don't want to feed another switch to the demons if something is wired wrong...Are you guys grabbing both the brown (+) wire as well as the gray/black (-)?

Thanks

Brennan

grey/black in the Brown plug at the BCM (-)

make sure you set your starter for - out... or you'll be replacing BCM's and not switches....

I wonder if they set it up Positive?  Have to check this tonoght when I get home....

Would it make a difference if I grabbed it at the switch or at the BCM?
