2009 ford flex avital 4003 remote start

I recently installed a DEI Avital 4003 remote start in a 2009 Ford Flex.  The remote start is the only thing I hooked up.  It does not have door lock/unlock interface.  I used the master door lock grey/tan wire as my activation wire.  When the lock button on the remote is clicked 3 times it activates the remote start.  The problem is that the doors will lock and then the driver door will unlock like the unlock button has been clicked (which it has not).  If I click the lock button a 4th time the driver door will lock again.  I'm wondering if this is some sort of protection against locking yourself out of the car.  I have the factory arm/disarm wires connected but nothing connected to any of the unlock wires.  According to the DEI wiring guide, this car has a 5 wire lock system.  Is there another wire I can use to acomplish the same thing without it unlocking the driver door? 

what are you using for your disarm wires ?    should be Factory Alarm Disarm(GREEN/ VIOLET) sounds like the diarm wire is connected to an unlock wire im assumming this does it with the door closed ?If i Can't Install it    I Don't need it   Joe

I was wondering if the reverse polarity was causing the locks to lock then unlock.  I had originally intended to use the lock wire, but I was told to use the lock motor wire because it would provide a more stable signal.  Any other suggestions about what to use for the trigger wire?

Doors closed, use the key to start the car and press the lock button in the car. Does it do the same thing? Also try it with the drivers door open and see if you get the same behavior. I have seen the same behavior on other cars and if it has the drivers unlock feature it will also only unlock the drivers door. Another thing to try is push the lock plunger/latch if it has one with the car running to see if does the same thing. If pushing the lock button in the car does not cause the same problem then using the lock wire might be a better solution.
