relay wiring check needed

I have a 2006 Ford E250 Cargo van. I purchased a daytime running light kit which comes with LED lights and wiring harness. The van does not come with drl's or automatic headlights that turn on with a photosensor from the factory and would like to add the drl set i got. Can u guys check the wiring diagram i plan on using. I would like to have the drl's on while driving and have them turn off when i turn the headlights on. I also purchased a better quality relay and 5 pin relay socket. I know this is old news on this forum but after reading so many variations of drl relay wiring, i got confused. I got this wiring schematic directions from the HELLA  website and would like to know if this will work. Thanks.

Relay: Tyco 20/30A  12V  SPDT

Pin 30: 12V 30A fused from vans battery

Pin 85: Taps into low bean headlamp wire.

Pin 86: Ground to firewall

Pin 87: Positive wire from LED lights will both be joining together

Pin 87a:  Not used.

Ok of the top of my head (keep in mind i don't know what drl's are)

Pin 30- ignition (true and proper source capable of handling the demand of the drl's )

Pin 87@- to the positive leg of drl's

Pin 85- Ground

Pin 86- Headlight (+) wire

The way you have it wired above the headlights will turn on the drl's, also you have the pins 85 and 86 reversed, although it doesn't matter, if the relay has a diode across the coil it will, so just to be safe!

•Illuminate only when the vehicle lighting is switched off and the ignition is switched on.

•Switch off automatically when the vehicle lighting is switched on

I was able to get ahold the ignition switch female connector and think that it will probably be better if the 12volt ing turns on and turns of the relay. The above statement is from the same installation instructions. 

Will a 1N4001/L diode wired on the relay socket be ok. I am not so sure if the TYCO relay has a diode. Will it hurt if the relay already has one and i wire a second one on there.

Thanks t&t tech i will try your method. On the ignition switch wiring schematic diagram i have from (all data.com) i have 3 pins that i think supply 12V ignition. Can you direct me to the correct pin so i can wire it to pin 30 on the relay. These are the pins description. I think its Pin 3 but am not sure. Thanks again t&t tech

Pin 1  (PK/LG) - Voltage supplied in start and run (overload protection)

Pin 3  (BLK/LG) - Voltage in run or accessory ( overload protected)

Pin 8 (GY/YE) - Voltage in run (overload protected)
