Hey there, I installed the 'Steel mate' central locking system in my car a while ago. A few weeks later I brought the '4 Channel wireless relay' (digitech) From jaycar. With good intentions of hooking up one of the channels to the steel-mate central locking. Ill try my best to explain the situation. Steelmate: Brown wire - When touches ground doors lock. White wire - When touches ground doors un-lock. Wireless relay box: Yellow - Common Yellow w/red - Normally open Yellow w/Black - Normally closed Now I have the. - yellow touching ground - yellow w/red on the white - Yellow w/Black on brown. note- I have the box set to 'latched' I press the button on the wireless-relay remote the doors lock and un-lock no problem. I was super happy untill. I useed the key in the door to unlock, Both doors unlock, when i goto lock with the key- Nothing happens. I think the problem is that once it unlocks the white wire is touching ground through the wireless relay box. My my question is, Is there a way to make this work? Please feel free to ask questions, I realize that there is a lot of information there, Thanks heaps

The wireless relay box should show 6 wires not three, what you have shown is either the lock side or unlock side only. Also the reason the key doesn't work is you have it latched. Show me all the colours on the 4 channel wireless relay and I'll tell you what to do but first disconnect from the steelmate system and make sure everything still locks and unlocks from the key.

Hey, Thanks for the reply. I have used a 4 Chennel wireless realy (digitech). Not a steel mate branded one. It had 3 wires per channel. eg Yellow        = Common Yellow/Red    = N/O Yellow/ Black =N/C The steelmate is still operational. Thanks

What you've posted is one channel i.e. either lock or unlock not both you should have SIX output wires not three. Please post ALL of the wires then I can spoon feed you to the correct method.

Yes, well I know it may not be possable, But i was hoping to use only ONE channel to both lock and unlock. I do understand why you refer to wanting six wires, I should of explained more clearly. Cheers

Now I know where you're going except it's impossible without adding relays which would flat your battery. In other words it can't be done the way you want to do it.

Once activated by the relay on the left, the relay's coil on the right will stay energized until either ground or 12v(+) is removed. You can do this with another relay. Or try connecting to a 12v(+) switched source instead of a constant one. Or you can have a door trigger activate a relay to break continuity. The variations are practically endless. Momentary to Constant 12v(+) Output Relay Diagram Could I make it so when i had both doors closed the grounf from the wireless relay box was disconnected? haha sorry I had a random idea.
