I have installed (partially apparently) a Python 5704p in a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Base Model with a V6. There is no keys with a chip in them on this truck, so no pass lock II. The starter cranks the truck and then it stops running and a security light comes on in the lcd display on the dash. Can't seem to figure it out, I have hooked up the Pink ignition wire(Ignition 1), White wire(Ignition 2) and the heat/a/c accessory wire and split the yellow starter wire too. Why won't the engine keep running? Have used a tach signal wire and the virtual tach same results.

The Security Light indicates that you do indeed have the Passlock2 engine immobilizer system installed.  Look for a group of 3 wires coming from the ignition switch.  They will be small gauge and be Yellow, Black or ORANGE / Black and White or RED / White.  This system uses a resistance value in the ignition cylinder, not a transponder chip in the key.  You will need a bypass module of the old "two relays and a resistor" method to bypass the Paslock2 system.

Soldering is fun!

There are many bypass modules available for your truck.  If you want inexpensive, look for the DEI 555L, 555LW, 556LW from DEI.

If you want easy, look for the iDatalink ADS TBSL PL or Fortin INT-SL or INT-SL+.   If you have the relays, a Digital Multi Meter, a
nearby Radio Shack, and like to solder, here is a link to the "relays & resistor" method :  http://documents.audiovox.com/700054.pdf

The Tan Motor Unlock wire you mentioned is for the power door locks and has nothing to do with engine control.

No, the 556UW won't handle Passlock2.  The 556UW is for transponder chip based systems.  The Bulldog 791 bypass
would work, as it can do both.

Thank You once again, so the DEI 555l should work?
