Clifford Ag4

Hello all, About 2 months ago I posted on here about installing a clifford avantguard 4 in my 2000 jeep chereokee. The problem was, I could not find anyone to install it in my area, even the sponsored ones wouldn't attempt it, i was lost! So I found a guy throught this board under the installer database, Fred Berge. He said he could do it no problem. So I drove down to Grants Pass(2 hours awaay) and let him go at it. After about 9 hours he couldn't get the remote start working properly(it would start then cutoff in 6 seconds), the door lock relays wired correctly, and in the process of doing the windows he accidently fried the motor! So, I live about 140 miles away from him and he said he was going to come up and fix his mistake or buy a new alarm plus fix the windows. He was supposed to come up that next day; he never showed. So I called and his phone was disconnected.... So, I have been driving around with my alarm half wired correctly half-wired wrong. I don't know what to do :(. No one in my area will help me, even the clifford dealers. Can anyone think of anything I can do? I don't want to ruin my factory wiring anymore then I probably have. Please help, thx Adam

Hey this is ex4lis, the server crash ruined my other account. Fred totally skipped town to avoid paying for what he did wrong, so I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to take the it in the rear. My biggest problem is finding someone to fix the wiring OTHER then my dealership. See, if I have the dealership fix it, they will void my extended warranty! I want to avoid that at all costs. As far as whether he had to use the module for multiplexed wiring, he didn't have to for a couple reasons. 1 I have reg cherokee not a grand, 2 I do not have the sentry auto-immobilzation. Also, he was supposed to be clifford authorized. He had all the papers and everything so maybe I can get clifford to help me? Please help, thanks, Adam

Is it the wiring that is the problem or is it the door lock/window  module ?Jeff

Well I found a place that said they will fix it. The place is called Car tunes. Does anyone know anything about this bussiness? I defiently am wary about everything right now. They said they will fix it for a rough estimate of $270-370 but he couldn't give me a for sure cause he hasn't seen the car yet. Thanks, Adam

Adam, I empathize with how you feel! I also apologize for the actions of one yahoo out there that wasn't an honest technician! One bad apple sometimes mars the the skills of the whole bunch! My advice would be to check with your local Better Business Bureau to see if the shop you are having do the work is rated well and/or has complaints filed against it. Alot of the time they don't have a record but if it is a shop that has been around awhile - they should either be a member or have an extensive customer base that you can ask around about their reputation. Word of mouth is still the best form of advertising! Also ask if they are licensed and bonded - this way it covers you and them in case they do roast something (like the jerk-off that started it in the first place) Good luck to you!

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I will be bringing my Jeep up on thursday early morning and they said it should be finished by 6 pm(when they close). They are gonna redo everything instead of just half-assing his work they said. They are authorized clifford dealers(found em from the website) and warranty all their work. I think I might have found someone that can fix it finally. Thanks, Adam
