No, I think the lesson would be to not modify a perfectly fine harness without doing some research first..
Sorry, I forgot to check the pin config at work yesterday. Hopefully someone else can help you out.

No I think this is another classic example of DEI screwing up and not owning up to it. They should have a small piece of paper inserted into the manual with an addendum to the installation instructions rather than just hoping noone notices the problem. I think the fact that you checked your wires and compared them to the manual and questioned it before installing was a smart idea. RSX3.5 install guide errors? - Page 2 -- posted image.

Thanx iskidoo, i just don't trust that anything is perfect these days.  I can't count how many electronic items i've had over the years that were setup incorrectly.  I used to be heavy into R/C a few years ago and i had numerous battery packs that were wired backwards from the factory.  To be honest though, the only reason i checked it in this case was because i was bored and i wanted to familiarize myself with the kit before i installed it.  It was totally by chance that i noticed the harness didn't match up with the diagram.  I really shouldn't have messed with it until doing further research, but hindsight is 20/20.  Like i said i've had problems with electronics in the past.  On the plus side i've caught the mistake and will rectify any problems before installation.

No problem on the harness JWorm, another person offered to look as well.

kgerry, you listed the primary harness colors. He is looking for the secondary harness. 6 pin connector with light GREEN/ black, GREEN / WHITE, violet/black, WHITE/ black, grey/black, light blue. They are out of order in the book.

well you should have it now... sorry...in our shop we refer to the primary harness as the plug with the main heavy gauge primary wires and the secondary harness as the flat 12 pin harness...just second nature for me
