Run the wire out your door and attach it to a stuffed dogs dog collar and head out for a drive.

what size amp do you currently have and what size are you thinking of putting in? (watts)
Buy it, install it, play with it. Then take it back out, read the instructions, install it better!

How about a list of your equipment (makes and models)... headunit, amps, speakers, subs, crossovers, etc. Let us know how you have it currently wired up as well.

1000 watts using an 8 guage! oh well..as long as it works...i would bump it up to using 4 guage for just that one 1000watt amp...

I agree with SDmustang21, you should be running at least 4 gauge to that amp. I'm not a fan of Sony's car audio by any means, especially their xplod line. But if it's what you wanted then go with it.
What were you wanting to do with the second amp? There's no way to bridge those amps together and combine the output to the subs, and running 1 sub from each amp would be pointless. If you were to do anything I would suggest running another set of subs from the second amp (although that would require running more wires and definitely a larger alternator, plus the subs)
