I have a 2003 Rav4 -without- the factory alarm or keyless entry.  Do I still need a transponder bypass module to make the remote start work?  And if so, which one would you suggest?

jonathan.

Not all models have the transponder. It looks like you have the base model, which doesn't have a transponder. Do you have a key that is all metal?

We got the two regular keys with the black plastic top, and one key with a slightly smaller black plastic top.  That mean there are chips in there?

it sounds like your model is the one that does not have the factory immobilizer. but i guess the easiest way to be sure is to ask the dealership.

toyota transponder keys are about 1/4" thick, thats twice the thickness of a non-transponder key.
