What weight of fiberglass should i use?

polyester resin and MEKP hardener are the appropriate resin and hardener for fiberglass. As for the weight, well it really doesn't matter, just depends on how many layers you want to lay. For instance, the 3oz mat is the same as the 40oz mat, just not a dense. Really what ever fits your budget is usually good. I usually just get the stuff that they sell at walmart, homedepot, autozone etc that comes in the little 8sqft packages and then add between 6 and 10 layers depending on the projects specifications. I imaging something like 40oz would be a good weight for something like a heavy tripple 15" sub box, whereas the 3oz would be for something like a small kick panel etc. Fiberglass mat is fiberglass mat to me. I always use chop mat instead of the woven cloth for something like that. Chop mat is readily available in 2oz and lower weights while woven mat is available in the higher weights. You can use something like Coremat if you need to bulk it up without adding extra layers of fiberglass. Use MDF for flat areas to save money and add strength.

I'm not sure what you call "completely fill" so it's a little hard to say. A Pathfinder is pretty big so probably not. It really depends on how much square footage you're covering and how thick you're laying the mat. More mat + more area = more resin. See if your supplier will let you return any unopened containers if it's within a certain time frame.

you will definately need more than a gallon.... is this the same idea as you drew in the other post? (the one i lit on fire?)   if so, you'll probly wanna buy a 5 gal bucket..... you'll need it.
