Anyone had any experience with the JL W6 in a 10 or 12"? I wonder how they compare to MTX 8500, 9500 series?

I have an opportunity to buy a new 12" pair, but cant listen to them first. I am currently running 3 MTX 8000 series with a 1200.1 and want EXTREME BASS. I will have a new ported enclosure built to spec.

boom, boom, boom boom....

Personally I've played with the w6v2 series, installed a pair in a Lancer. The w6's are basically a small verson of the w7, they have simular motor structures and a very simular cone design etc. They are however completely different as the w7 uses newer and more revolutionary technology to make its performance as good as it is. Anyway, if u can get a pair of these, I would say go for it. The MTX 8000 will bang, and they will bang hard, I've heard more than my share of them, but they get really boomy at higher volumes, the w6's tend to maintain their clear bass at higher volumes better than almost any sub under the w7 mark. I dont think you'd be disappointed if u got them. Thatz my 2 centz

Thanks xtreamcc for your 2 cents. I will probably choose them because of their reputation of sound quality with high spl as well. I would like to know how the w6's compare to the mtx 9500. If I had more $$, I would definitely go with the w7's.

BTW, do you think there is much difference between 10's and 12's?

boom, boom, boom boom....
