Hello all,

I am new to the DVD/processor install scene. I am designing a system but would like to know if you install/audiophiles fanatics will lend me your expertise. I am going to install a Clarion VRX925VD player and a Clarion DVH920 5.1 Dolby processor in my vehicle. I need to know how to by pass the tricky little hand brake prob (just so the displays on my headrests will work). I also would like to know if the subwoofer out on the processor will work with my JBL 1200.1 and how to hook it up since it is just 1 rca pin connector. My last problem (I promise) is that I was wondering if anyone had experience with these units and if I can play my music in a normal mode without using the dolby effects or such of the processor when I just want to hear some tunes out of my regular speakers since I will have all connections going to amps between processor and speaker. I know it is alot of questions for such a small post but any replies would be welcome.

Hello dunmessedit up, I just put this unit in my vehicle. I like it alot! In order to bypass the parking brake wire just run it straight to ground. Or if you want to control the use of the screen you could use a toggle switch on that wire. As for the processor hook up I cant help ya on that .I do belive that there is section in the handbook that tells all about the processors hook up and programing. Just read it carefully and go step by step. I think you will be real happy with your choice of units. Good luck Brianh

Thanks for the input Brian it is good to hear that the unit performs well and others like it, and thank you very much for the info on the parking brake.

Anyone else with help on the other areas are welcome to put their 2 cents - 20.00 dollars in.

I also just recently bought the clarion and am about to put it in today. That parking brake question was a good one cause i was going to ask the same thing.. I have a question on the placement of the module. I own a f-150 truck and there is like no room anywhere to put it. If anybody has any experience with these trucks any input would be helpful.

you can run the brains wire down the passangers carpet nd hide it behind the carpet its metal it will handel if it is kicked or anything. dont worry i did a bigger brain than that (kenwood 911dvdbrain) in that spot looked good and was fine , did not even know it was there.

now for orignial poster you can hook up the sub amp buy splitting the rc so buy a spliter that is one male rca into two female rca than connect original rca from amp to the splitter. and as far as dolby digital goes . it iwll only be dolby digital when it recieves the decoding off of a dvd or somethign like that other wors normal radio will be normal radio as before .

I put my "brain" in the passenger side dash. I dont have a passenger side air bag so the panel just pulls off. I hid the unit there so it was easy to run wires from the brain to the eq. Im not sure about the f 150 but under a seat works good. You could also look into maybe putting it behind your glovebox. Is it a king cab? Just about anywhere will work just make sure it can get some air flow and be easy to get the wires to. You may also want to keep in mind the length of the cables. good luck Brianh

Well i finsihed the install today and i have to say now my truck is complete. IT looks very nice and sounds very nice too. I had to end up putting the module below the passenger seat. But i still have wires showing becuz i ran them under the doorstep. I can't find a way to get them under the carpet. WEll i have a 02 supercrew harely davidson. So i have alot of room but its not easy to find a place to hide it. well thanks for all the help. would have been here sooner but blew a fuse so had to get that asap

Sorry I didn't get around to the thank you's on this post earlier but I am currently deployed with the military and it is somewhat of a pain to get to a computer at times. So here goes.....thanks for all the posts. I have a good grasp on what I need to do and it is good to hear that others have installed and are using the unit which seems to perform up to expectations. Once again thanks for the support.
