I have installed a remote starter on my 1997 Mercury Mountaineer and everything is working fine, except that the alarm goes off after unlocking the doors remotely and opening the door.  Tech support tells me that the wire I need to find for factory alarm shutdown is DK Grn with a VT stripe.  It is supposed to be in the drivers kick panel.  I cannot locate this wire there.  Is there any other place that I might easily find this wire?

Any clues or tips would be appreciated.

Yes, it should be a Dark GREEN/ Purple (-) behind the driver's side kick panel. Keep digging, you'll find it.
