I put Power door lock actuators and a budget Remote keyless entry system in my del sol about 3 years ago. The RKE unit is acting up and i am thinking that i would like to upgrade to remote start.
I am not interested in an alarm so after a lot of reading, I have narrowed it down to 2 crimestopper models: the RS900VII and the RS999, and this finally leads to my question.
the RS999 is a 2 way LED (not interested in LCD) where the remote will indicate that the car is running. the RS900VII is a 1 way unit. I am wondering if anyone has any opinions, advice or experience with the 2 way systems. Does it work reliably? Is it practicle? Is it something you really use and are glad you have it or is it a waste? I have not used remote start before so it is hard to predict what features i will regret having or not having. I will appreciate any input or suggestions. thanks.

Im not sure of the crimestopper models, but I have seen the Prestige and Viper units. They are kinda cool for some things. If you are in your house and/or cannot see your vehicle, the lcd/paging unit will show you the status of your vehicle. If it is locked, unlocked, started, violated, and on some models, what the temperature is inside your car. Its not a need, but a want thing.
