Fiberglass bucket?

I've got two crappy 10" Sony Xplods and I'm planning on making two boxes and mounting them under my back dash, in the trunk. The suggested volume for a sealed enclosure is .6-.8ft^3, the subs I might get someday if I can actually affoard to upgrade have a suggested enclosure of .78ft^3 I'm thinking about using a 5 gallon bucket (coated in Vaseline and newspaper for extraction) as my mold, with a newspaper wad stuck on the bottom end, to round off the bottom for rigidity, and add a little bit more volume. .78ft^3 = 5.98gal, I'm thinking this would be an easy way to go about making a symetrical enclosure with minimal deformations (not that I care what it will look like). Is this a good or bad idea?

I figured maybe someone else had tried the same thing before. I have one more question: What's the cheapest way to put the wires through the enclosure with a connector? I don't want (nor do I know where) to buy one of those speaker things they have in most boxes.

The cheapest way to put the wires through the enclosure period is drilling a hole just big enough then caulking it so its air tight. If you are interested in "those speaker things they have in most boxes" online or Radio Shack is a good place, prob like $4.Peace
