Big Hole, Small Overhead

Does anyone have any reccomendations for what I can do about covering up a hole from a 15 inch overhead monitor to accomodate a 12 inch? the hole from the 15 inch is off to the far left side so that I could run the power cable however the 12 inch is much smaller and doesn't even come close to covering it unless I mount it off center which isn't an option. If you have any ideas for something not ghetto to do please let me know. Pictures would be good if you have them. Thanks...I've got nothing fancy to say!

I would think anything short of replacing the headliner would be sort of ghetto. You might want to check to see if the manufacturer of the tv makes any custom consoles. They are usually pretty large even if you find one that isn't for the particular vehicle your working on, you might be able to make it work. Another possibility is to just take a sheet of abs plastic that covers everything, round the corners, cover it in matching headliner material, and mount your tv over that. I had to do something similar when another installer mounted a tv too far back, except I wasn't mounting the tv back over top of it. Definately wasn't my first choice of ways to fix it, but nobody was willing to put a cent into the damn thing so that's what we ended up with.. Could be worse I guess.. Good luck, Mike

That's cool. I'm thinking about a fiberglass beauty ring around the unit that's in there. It's in a Yukon XL and the headliner would be expensive to replace. I appreciate your help. Where dou you get ahold of headliner material? I've got nothing fancy to say!
