The clutch wire is PURPLE (+) . There will be a yellow wire there as well and is located at the base of the clutch pedal along side the fire wall. As faras the wiring diagram you can go here: https://www.the12volt.com/info/diagrams.asp for the information.

The wire I was using (according to the diagram) is the purple w/white stripe located in the engine harness.(Up under the lower rad hose, over the valve cover by the coils)
If it ain't broke...Maybe it should be!

You need to move the tach until you find a usable one. Don't just attach to the wire because we give you a color. Test it for the proper function and if it works then connect to it.

On the manual remote starters....The door switch can get it outa' ready mode, and shut the car down etc if the door is open. Can this be bypassed?I know it is a "safety" feature, but it is a stupid one! Some of us do forget things in our cars and I don't want to have to go through the whole "ready" procedure every time I forget my smokes in the car.

...And what is so unsafe about opening the door in the first place?

While in ready mode....to open the door, just remote start the car.....you don't need to get back in and do the whole safty "set-up thing" again.

At least thats the way my astro works......

Why the doors are monitered is, open the door, put the rig in gear, hit remote start and of it goes. If the door has been opened....no starty

Is there any magic I should know about with an '02 Cavalier 5spd install?I have the starter wired I just need to bypass the clutch and hook up the tach wire (White,PURPLE / black,or injector wire?)Does a Cavalier have a 2 wire clutch switch or 4 (I don't know what to look for)? And how do I hook it up?
