Panasonic dvd system model # 15200217

I have a 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe LT.I picked up a Panasonic DVD flip down system out of a totaled 2004 Tahoe.I want to install this into my vehicle but I have couple questions.First my stock AM/FM Tape player and aux CD player below have been changed to a 2000 S10 stock AM/FM CD player with aux Tape player.Now the wiring out of the DVD system is only 6 wires:an orn(power)blk/wht(ground)brn/wht(lt audio)blk/wht(common signal)dk grn/wht(rt audio)and lt grn/blk(data link connector).The power and ground are easy but where sould I tap in the other wires(the data link connector is what confuses me the most and I might be able to figure the audio,but any help would be great)

Before you do anything else I'd hook the power and ground from the unit up and make sure the DVD system will work on its own like that(read on for why). Since you mentioned you have the aux tape player in your current setup, check that out first. I'll assume that you don't still have the connector for the DVD system's wiring harness but if the tape deck's wiring is the same you could cut that plug off and use that, unless you still need the tape capability. From what I can tell from the wiring descriptions you gave: Power and ground are self explanatory The left and right audio are positive audio signal wires for the head unit. The common signal wire is the negative for the previous two. The data link would be used to communicate with the head unit(I'd say this would be used for something like being able to control the DVD system from up front, or sending DVD information to be displayed on the head unit). If you DON'T have the same wiring as the tape deck, assuming the unit comes on without the data link wire(hence the first line of this post), you can hook up the power and ground to a switched power source. For audio you need to either use only headphones(I'm assuming it's got a headphone jack), or do some kind of FM modulation.
