I will be installing a DEI 561T addon RS into a 2003 and 2005 Chevy Tahoe sometime soon, and would like to know if I sould use a 555L or 457G. What are the advantages/disadvantages of both? Thanks.

The 457G is a combination bypass and door lock interface that combines the functionality of the 555L (GM Passlock) and 555G (GM Passkey 3) transponder bybass modules, as well as the 456G, 456A, and 446B Databus Interfaces.

For the type of installation I am wanting ( 561T addon RS into 2003 Tahoe)  is the Databus module required or can I get by only using the 555L?

Its not needed for the 2003. I am uncertain about the 2005, I would have to double check that.

You can use the 555l on both of these. The 457g is easier to install though.

The 457g works 2003 and up no problem, same with the 555l or 556l. Either will work fine on either truck...

I recently received and have installed the 561T/555L into the 2003 Tahoe. I would like to power up the heated seats when using the RS. Can this be done, if so then how whould I do it? Also, since this is only something I'd want activated during the winter I would be putting a switch inline as to turn this functionality on/off.

I am still looking for an answer to my my previous posted question. Also, is it possible to prevent the RS from being activated using the lock switch in the car? It is odd that I can pulse the door switch and start the vehicle.
