GEM module location on Ford

I have a 2003 ford explorer with a short  or a drain in the GEM / Cluster circuit.  I cannot find the GEM anywhere.  I also do not know what it looks like, which probably has something to do with it.  I called the dealership but most of the guys there didn't know where it is or what it looks like either.  The only one who had a clue could only tell us it was under the dash.

I know the drain is not in the dash so the GEM is my next target.  If anyone has any info that can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you very much.  Has anyone had any rpoblems with shorts in this circuit before?  The dealership said they have a problem with f-150s  GEM module getting wet and shorting out, but hadn't heard anything about the explorer.  I just need to figure out why it's causing a drain on the battery.

Well, I am actually grasping at straws.  I have solved hundreds of shorts/drains on many different vehicles.  This one however has eluded me and I have two different customers with the same exact problem.  Bot Fords ('03 explorer, '02 windstar).  The problem is so broad that I can't narrow it down.  I even used my short/open circuit "sniffer" to try and locate it.  But I recieved "hits"  all over the dash area.  Thus, I've concluded that if the short seems to be in everything it must be coming from a unit that has an effect on almost everything.  And the only thing that's really left is the GEM module.  Everything else as far as I can tell is working under normal parameters.
