Hello, I recently put a 2w900fm compustar in my 2006 mustang and whenever I go to put it in reservation mode,(If you are familiar with compustars this is to ensure the vehicle is not in gear and once the key is removed the vehicle does not shut off til the door is shut) the stereo does not shutoff because the car is still running when I shut the door. Any ideas on how to get around this please let me know. Thanks in advance!

I think its closer to 5 minutes.
Your best option is going to be to shut the radio off before getting out of the car. The acc. circuit going to the radio will still be powered for 5 minutes, but it won't create any problems. If you try to pulse a doorpin wire after shutdown you are just going to cancel reservation mode.

I know about that tech tip as well, but I wouldn' be surprised if the original poster used the domelight wire as the door trigger. 2 different methods...but 1 has a lot more wiring than the other.
nobrks7, how did you wire up the door triggers?

The door triggers work perfectly it is just that to put the alarm in "reservation mode" the car continues running until you shut the doors the accessory switch has power until the doors are closed which causes the radio to never shut off... but like someone said it is not that big of a deal because if I forget to turn it off it will only stay on for about 5 minutes after I get out

I have never seen this problem..... the radio is staying on because an accs. is staying hot?  Retained accs, power.  typically this is fixed by pulsing, or breaking a door pin wire. (simulating opening the door) Can you wire a relay onto the drivers door pin, and "break" it with an arm pulse, or pulse after runtime/shutdown?

If you pulse it like this it will kill the reservation mode and he wont be able to remote start it. I would just rely on a. shutting the radio off or b. ignore it I doubt it will cause an issue.
