01 ford ranger viper 5902 remote start

I have a 01 ford ranger 2.5L manual. I have the viper 5902 alarm with remote start and everything use to work including the remote start. I had installed some air horns to the alarm and it fried the brain. I had replaced the brain and now the remote start does not work. I am going through the steps ("E brake->brake peddle-> hit button on alarm->.....") but right when i hit the button on the alarm to activate the Manual mode for remote start it says on the keypad remote start not activated.
Like i said the remote start did work until it fried the brain and i replaced the brain. Is there a way to tell the brain the vehical is a manual with out using the bit writer?
The "shop" wants to charge me $200.00 just to look at it..

Did you pair the remote to the new brain?  Are you getting any flashes from the parking lights??

yea 7. but all that is telling me is the Remote start not activated" at least thats what the manual says.
and yes the remote is paired to the new brain

I would talk with the shop again. That seems excessive but without knowing both sides I don't know.
Without a bit writter your best guess would be try programming for manual trans. As in change how it is now. It sounds more like it isn't seeing something like door pin or maybe tach isn't programmed.
Double check every connection. Reset the brain and reprogram.

Frankly I think the shop is showing some sour grapes, I would do it on a per hour basis but then to a pro the first couple of lines on the OP say it all.
You should have simply told the shop it wasn't working.

well the reason why they want to charge me so much is because they didnt install it. So they think they will have to re wire the whole system.
I checked all connections and everything was tight.
But more it sounds like it it may be my better option....

1 hour to test, 1.5 hours to re-install, .5 hours on the air horn wiring.
So about 3 hours at $? per hour.
Suddenly $200 doesn't sound excessive does it.
Did you use the secondary horn output to the airhorn relay though a diode??
I'd be interested to know exactly how you did the airhorns or how you decided the brain was fried.
Do the alarm, LED or locks still work?

Easy way to add air horns on that vehicle:-
BROWN / Black H2/8 on 5902 to yellow/light green (test) at steering column loom.
Upgrade the horn fuse (probably underhood fusebox)to 20 amps then run the + horn compressor lead to the existing horn wire that goes + when you press the horn, - side of compressor to ground.

everything else worked.
but i dont have the air horn any more..
idk what i am going to do right now. everything works but the remote start. so its doing its main job as being an alarm. i was just seeing if there was something that i can do to fix it my self.

Without flying 5000 miles to test it, I'm guessing you should check all the fuses with a multimeter, bet you didn't fry the brain at all, you probably screwed up the air horn wiring and popped a fuse, either a vehicle fuse or the alarm fuse, by the way that last post on air horns is the simplest way to do it with no extra parts, done it loads of times.
