Looking at buying a Compustar 2WSS-AS system but will be installing it myself.  Two questions:

1) Can I use a DEI 555U to make the remote start work?  (This is on a 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STi, which has an RF chip in key immobilizer system)

2) Can I use any 3/4 wire sensors that I want, or does Compustar make sensors specifically for this model?

Well I did a lot more research and it looks like the answer to both of my questions is "Yes"

I am just finishing up my Compustar 2WSS-AS install on a 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STi.

Everything works except for remote start!  I cannot get the thing to go into reservation mode, and I have followed the steps EXACTLY numerous times.  It says the engine should remain running when I take the key out of the ignition, but it does not.  Then when I try to start it, I get the three chirps from the siren followed by 7 flashes of the parking lights indicating that the car was not in reservation mode.

I know that one of the triggers for activating reservation mode is putting the car in neutral, and I am doing that, but I think part of the problem may stem from the fact that there is no wire (at least from what I read in the installation manual) that actually connects to the NPS or other wire that shows when the transmission is in neutral.  What am I missing?  I've checked to make sure that the wires from the relay go to the correct sides of the starter wire, etc.  The car has learned my tach successfully, and the relays are clicking when I take my foot off of the brake and set the E-brake.

I didn't bypass the clutch yet (Speaking of which - do I need a relay for that?), but I figured I could at least get the car to remote start if I had my foot on the clutch...  Since it's not even going into reservation mode, that's no good.

-have you connect the ebrake wire to your ebrake?
-the reservation mode is to show that everytime you go through the "reservation mode" that you remember not to put it in gear. the compustar doesnt technically know that its in neutral or not.
-btw, the clutch doesnt have anything to do w/ the reservation mode.
-you have to bypass the clutch w/ a relay. the switch is behind the clutch pedal not b4 the pedal. if you have cruise control, you will have another switch that lies b4 the pedal, so dont get mix up.

Yes, the E-brake wire is connected to the E-brake.  That is actually one of the first wires I connected.  It shows ground when engaged and 12 volts when disengaged.

Okay, so it has nothing to do with being in neutral or not, but I always am in neutral.

Any other ideas?

was this unit bought used or new?
if it was used, then the unit prolly has been used for AT car, thus the loop has been cut for AT car.

Nope, bought brand new (although from eBay).  The loop has not been cut.

this may sound silly, but did you have all your doors and hood closed when you attempted to set reservation mode?
